Product Overview The
      DM442 is a new digital stepper motor driver introduced by Raytheon. It adopts the latest 32-bit DSP technology. The user can set any subdivision within 512 and any current value within the rated current to meet the application requirements of most occasions. . Thanks to low-speed/medium-speed anti-resonance technology and built-in micro-segmentation technology, high subdivision effects can be achieved even under low-segmentation conditions. The low-medium-speed operation is very smooth and the noise is extremely small. The internal auto-tuning function of the driver is integrated to automatically generate the optimal operating parameters for different motors to maximize the performance of the motor. 
The rising edge or falling edge of the trigger is enabled by the PC software ProTuner software or the STU debugger; single pulse mode or double pulse mode can also be set. In double-pulse mode, the signal at the other end must remain high or float.
 
The main application areas are
suitable for all kinds of small and medium-sized automation equipment and instruments, such as: marking machines, engraving machines, cutting machines, laser photoprinting, medical treatment, plotters, CNC machine tools, and automatic assembly equipment. In the user's desire for a small noise, high stability, high precision equipment in the application of special effects.

Microstep subdivision setting
Four SW4 SW5-SW8 dial switches are used to set the number of subdivisions of the microsteps of the driver. There are a total of 15 microstep subdivisions. When the user sets the microstep subdivision, the driver should be stopped first. For the setting of specific microstep subdivisions, please refer to the layout of the driver plane.
Output current setting
Three driver switches SW1-SW3 set the output current of the driver. The output current is 8 levels. The specific output current settings, please drive the layout instructions.
Automatic half-flow function
Users can set the drive's automatic half-current function through SW4. Off means that the quiescent current is set to half of the dynamic current, while on indicates that the quiescent current is the same as the dynamic current. In general use, SW4 should be set to off to reduce the heat generated by the motor and driver and improve reliability. About 0.4 seconds after the burst is stopped, the current is automatically reduced to about half (60% of the actual value), and the calorific value is theoretically reduced to 36%.
Signal interface
PUL+ and PUL- are the positive and negative ends of the control pulse signal; DIR+ and DIR- are the positive and negative ends of the direction signal; ENA+ and ENA- are the positive and negative ends of the enable signal.
Motor interface
A+ and A- are connected to the positive and negative terminals of the A-phase winding of the stepper motor; B+ and B- are connected to the positive and negative terminals of the B-phase winding of the stepper motor. When the A, B two-phase windings are exchanged, the direction of the motor can be reversed.
Power interface
DC power supply is used, the working voltage range is recommended to be 18-40VDC, and the power supply power is greater than 100W.
LED
The driver has two indicators, red and green. The green light is the power indicator. When the driver is powered on, the green light is always on. The red light is the fault indicator. When an overvoltage or overcurrent fault occurs, the fault light is on. After the fault is cleared, the red light goes out. When the drive fails, only the power is turned on and re-enabled to clear the fault.
Installation Notes
The external dimensions of the driver are: 116×69.2×26.5mm, and the mounting hole distance is 109mm. Both horizontal and vertical installation, vertical installation is recommended. When installing, it should be tightly attached to the metal cabinet to facilitate heat dissipation.

DM442 driver uses an eight-position dial switch to set the subdivision precision, dynamic current, and half/full flow. Detailed description is as follows:

When SW5, SW6, SW7, SW8 are all on, the driver subdivision adopts the default internal subdivision number of the driver: 1 (full step = 200 steps/rev); the user sets the number of subdivisions through PC software ProTuner or STU debugger. The minimum value is 1, the resolution is 1, and the maximum value is 512.
